MY TEACHING STYLE

Standards focused, but creative, fun, and successful! (example: Spring 2015 my SDC 5th graders surpassed the general education students on their fractions assessment-- without modifications!) I know how to teach things in a variety of ways to help things "stick".

As a 1st year teacher was elected to represented part of California at the NEA-RA in Denver, CO (back in summer 2014).

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Grew up in Title 1 schools, pushed through various obstacles to attend community college, went on to UC Davis (BA in Poltical Science - Public Service and Minor in Education), selected to join the AmeriCorps with Teach For America in 2013, received MA in Special Education in May 2015.
