TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 14 years. I am Nationally Board certified in K-12 General and Vocal music. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree. I am Orff certified, have taken classes and have experiences with Kodaly, Dalcroze, and World Music Drumming.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am creative, goofy, and fun. I find creative ways to engage my students and teach them what they need to know. My students are musically literate and out of 400 kids, 398 sing in tune and 250 of my 3rd-5th graders can sing 2-part music in small groups and stay in tune! My students can play 4 part instrument pieces as early as 2nd grade and they LOVE music! I also have a private piano at home where I teach students from 3 years through high school. My approach with them is fun and innovative!

I completed my Orff Certification through the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with Randy DeLelles, Jeff Kriske, and Shirley W. McRae in 2005. I took Dalcroze, Vocal Pedagogy, and Orff Master's classes at the University of Minnesota. I took Intro to Kodaly and Kodaly level 1 with Aileen Miracle.
