TEACHING EXPERIENCE

MY TEACHING STYLE

My approach was inspired greatly by Montessori and Reggio Emilia. I believe that all subjects should be taught with the goals of engaging children as creative thinkers in the world. Without these skills, their knowledge is limited in any subject or skill. Knowledge can be taught as a single entity to be learned or it can be a beginning to a process of creative possibilities in the world. Deepening these connections can bridge to all subject areas and change the future of our children's actions, thoughts, and ideas of the world. When we value and introduce recyclable materials as learning materials we are encouraging children to Re-Think creative ways to use materials around them. This action in itself inspires creative thinking and innovative ideas. Children respond more to these materials and they can be used regardless of what funding supports their education.
