I have been blessed with gaining a vast amount of experience in different grade levels and populations within a short period of time. After graduating from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 2012, I taught 6-12th grade fine arts in Lancaster City Alternative Education. The following year, I moved to Maryland where I taught at the elementary level (plus Pre-K) for 2 years. I now teach back in Pennsylvania, grades K-6. I teach visual arts as well as visual communications. Visual communications is a technology and arts integrated course which focuses on design. Want to see what is going on every day in my art room? Learning is most successful through exploration and discovery of not only the material but of one's self. I am a firm believer in empowering students to gain their self confidence in the art room. In order to reach their full potential, students need to believe they can think outside the box and take chances without worry. I strive to create a safe learning environment for my students where taking chances, problem solving, and collaboration are encouraged.

I love learning and hope to share that love with all of my students. I also love to read and use literature in the art room on a daily basis. Making connections between art and literature is a fantastic tool and encourages my students to enjoy and love reading, as I do. Enjoying and appreciating nature and all the creatures in it, great and small, is a big part of my life. " There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but nature more.
