TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began teaching in a technology-intensive, project-based high school in New England in 1997. I have taught U.S. history and World History, psychology A.P. U.S. history and A.P. psychology, law and geography.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Project-based activities, often applying computer technology for research and production, hands-on activities that delve deeply into topics in a creative way, but still based on widely-used standards. I sometimes use re-enactments in history. I encourage collaboration and work to structure it effectively and differentiate within projects.

In addition to teaching, I have also worked as a behavior specialist and vocational counselor with developmentally delayed adults and as a professional musician, prior to becoming a teacher. I still actively perform music with a number of groups.
