TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a substitute teacher in District 75 (all special education) in the NYC Public School System. I mostly work with students that have Autism or Intellectual Disabilities. I have my bachelors in elementary and special education and I am dual-certified in both. I have my masters in Instructional Technology. I am currently in the beginning stages of pursing a Ph.D. in Assistive Technology.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in using technology and creativity to motivate the 21st century learners in our classrooms. I believe in finding creative ways to present content to students and using any form of technology available in the classroom to infuse technology into lessons. Sometimes this technology is elaborate in the form of an Interactive Whiteboard and sometimes the technology is simpler in the form of a laptop and projector. As of right now, I just have lessons plans available for sale on TpT but I'm working on adding demonstration videos for SMART notebook and interactive Power Point lesson presentations. When used to its full potential, Power Point can be used like an Interactive Whiteboard in that the presentations can be interactive and engaging for students.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a member of the Educational Honor Society Kappa Delta Pi.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have my bachelors in elementary and special education and I am dual-certified in both. I have my masters in Instructional Technology. I am currently in the beginning stages of pursing a Ph.D. in Assistive Technology.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am certified in elementary and special education but I mostly work in Special Education. I work with students with severe disabilities such as Autism and Down Syndrome. Many of my lessons are catered to these populations but the content can be adapted for students in the general education setting as well.
