As a product of parents who were two very inspiring and dynamic teachers, I have always known I would follow in their footsteps. From being the neighborhood babysitter to the leadership camp councilor to working as a teacher aide, I had many experiences working with kids. Today, I am a 6th grade Language Arts, Math, and Religion teacher at a WASC accredited private school. Some ways I have served my school community have been as a 2nd grade Summer School Teacher, the Student Council Moderator, Thinking Maps trainer, technology liason, and representing my school at many professional growth workshops, etc.
My teaching style could be described as creatively quirky and dynamic. Cooperative learning, visual arts, and technology are evident and used frequently in our class. I believe in having a firm hand in managing my classroom to teach respect for adults, peers, and self. However, involving a sense of fun and humor to elevate our teaching environment is a very important element, as well. I am passionate about teaching, put my 100% in all I do, and love feeling inspired to be the best educator I can be.
