TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I earned my degree in English at Michigan State University with secondary education certification. I did a year-long internship at a high school in Michigan before moving to Bakersfield, California. I taught in the Kern High School District at Mira Monte High School (established 2008) for seven years. I now teach in Sacramento, California.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to encourage creativity in English Language Arts. My teaching style takes a balanced approach between writing, project and research based learning, and objective assessment. I am a huge advocate of multi-genre writing.
