TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 3rd grade for the last 20 years in Las Vegas, Nevada. Before that, I substituted and taught K-5 in California for 5 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love teaching both science and social studies. I believe in creative exploration with lots of student presentations - both formal and informal. I love setting up opportunities for inquiry and helping guide students in the acquisition of foundational skills to be successful lifelong learners.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

2007 CCSD Southwest Region Distinguished Star award for Multicultural Awareness and Community Connections.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

AA from Shasta College in Redding, California. BA from Chico State in Chico, California. MA in Technology in Education from Lesley University. Hands-on experience... priceless!

My teaching style (creative, curious, and fun) is reflected in my classroom which has a dual-theme - CSI (Cushman's Student Investigators) a Detective theme in a Jungle decor.
