I never thought I'd teach: I thought I'd travel the world. A for awhile, that's what I did. When I stumbled into a teaching position in Kazakhstan, I discovered what an incredible driver for change, both personal and societal, education can be. I decided I had to teach. Since then, I haven't looked back. I've taught K-12 ESL, women's empowerment and health education, and am currently teaching state-side 6th grade Reading to work toward helping close the literacy gap.
It's all about culture for me. It's about rigor, it's about engagement, and it's about getting all those hands in the air.
Really? I'd rather just brag on my kiddos.
