TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I consider myself very lucky to have taught 7th and 9th grade life science (biology) for 10 years. I live and teach in the state of New York and every day is a chance to try something new and innovative with my students!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style has been evolving from a more traditional approach of having students take notes and do grouped lab assignments to a more project-based inquiry approach. My students are encouraged to ask questions and pursue answers even if the topics are not strictly on a lesson plan. I believe that giving my students more choice and freedom (when possible) in turn gives them a greater sense of responsibility for their learning.
