I have formally taught for over a decade, however since I used to line up my stuffed animals and give them homework, I consider my experience to be much longer. (=
Controlled Chaos? I am firm, friendly and fair. I try to give more mundane lessons a spin with songs, poetry, or a corky sense of humor. I love group activities and anything that engages the students as much as possible. I love to teach with a sense of humor. Making kids smile and laugh keeps their attention and allows me to be myself and love my job.
I have a bunch of kid made art and jewelry...I consider this my best reward. One student even made me a duct tape flower! Having kids shout my name to say hello through out the school makes me feel like a movie star.
I teach in the school where I attended as a child, which is rare in my area. I finally finished up a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. These classes have basically taught me that I do not feel called into administration. (=
I am a third generation teacher. I come from a family of teachers including my grandfather, mother, aunts, uncles and my husband. I am also a mother of 2 beautiful young children. Lord help my kids! (= You can reach me at teachcurious@gmail.com
