I've been a bilingual teacher for 15 years and have taught 2nd grade, reading interventions in grades K-5, coached and mentored teacher candidates and new teachers, taught aspiring teachers at UC Denver and I am currently a Literacy, Language and Cultural Studies Facilitator.
I try to educate my students, through engaging literature and curiosity, to be critical thinkers, persistent problem solvers and builders of their strengths in order to be successful both academically and socially. My students recognize that making mistakes is an opportunity for learning and growing. In addition, my English Language Learners know the value and asset of knowing two (or more) languages and continue in the journey to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural.
