TEACHING EXPERIENCE

-Substitute teacher for K-12 classrooms and special education. -Grade 6 general educator -Instructional Resource Teacher for Junior High/ High school students

MY TEACHING STYLE

Ever since I finished my first education degree, I have been focusing on inclusion and go by the theory of Gardner's Multiple Intelligence. I strive to meet the various learners in my classroom and develop lesson plans to encourage everyone to do well in their own unique way of learning. In a regular day I support students through both inclusion and pull out sessions. I incorporate differentiated lesson plans to spark interest and enthusiasm for assigned work. I am constantly reading articles, books, and taking on new courses to further my educational skills. The name Curriculum Crunch also has to do with my teaching style. When I was a grade 6 teacher I found the multiple curriculum guides overwhelming. I saw myself focusing on one subject more than the others and I felt like I was failing as a teacher. I decided to do fun assignments that would incorporate many curriculum strands in cross-curricular areas. I spent hours developing the best method on including multiple subjects in one assignment.
