TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught Kindergarten -5th grade, minus 4th. I love the ah-ha moments! I currently coach teachers in grades TK-5 grade with the implementation of SEAL and GLAD strategies for our second language learners. I model, give feedback, hold teacher and parent workshops and work on developing curriculum and resources to aid in classrooms.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Projects and games are a great way to solidify skills and gain assessment on how the students are processing. In addition, we use technology in our classroom to build background knowledge, and practice.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have won an Intel Award for technology integration when I taught at Franklin-McKinley School District, an Innovation Spirit Award from Oak Grove School District when I was both a reading intervention teacher for K/1st grade at a site and a parent leader in the school. Lastly, I recently received a Robotics VEX volunteer award for time and effort to VRC robotics and the club.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold a B.A. in Psychology, a M.S. in Administrative Leadership, a Multiple Subject Clear Credential with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and an Administrative Credential. Currently, I am working on my Ed.D. in Education with a specialization in Global Training and Development.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I started a food pantry in collaboration between a school site and the neighboring church and county food distribution agency. I created a literacy event for parents and students to enjoy DR. Suess while learning and playing literacy-based games. I hold parent workshops, teacher workshops and professional development for literacy, language, math, and integration of innovation and cross-curriculum subject matter.
