TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught at various levels and subjects. I began my career in a 4th-5th multi-inclusion class. I was very blessed to have two amazing mentor teachers early in my career. I went on to teach at the elementary level, all subjects, and eventually moved to high school. I now teach freshman and sophomore English. I am fortunate to teach from basic end- of- course remediation to honors/AP English.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style has evolved over the years, but the core values that still remain in my teaching have not changed. This style offers students the opportunity to lead and engage in lessons, by providing high interest lessons. I strive to educate them in a way that stimulates their learning, because the lessons are interesting and relevant to their lives.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my BA in Education from New Mexico Highlands University. I continued with my education and obtained a MA in Special Education at the same university. I believe in being a "lifetime learner." Who knows what degree I will try for next! I will keep everyone posted!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been blessed with three daughters and a son. My children are all young adults now. It has been an amazing journey raising my spirited children. I also have two wonderful step-daughters. I am married to an amazing man that is a "seasoned" Texas football coach (need I say more). My husband teaches high school Government and history. In the last few years our family has welcomed two new members, our grandsons Jadon (2 1/2 yrs.old)and Owen (2 months old). These two additions have changed me forever!
