I taught 6th Grade Social Studies for three years. Then I taught 8th Grade ELA / Social Studies for a year and I have been teaching 4th grade for two years. All of my teaching experience has been in high poverty, diverse Title I schools. Prior to teaching, I was a web developer and a stay-at-home mom.
I like to challenge the students with inquiry-based, hands-on learning. I enjoy having students show me what they have learned through projects and real-life applications.
I recieved a BA in History and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I recieved a Masters of Education - Middle Grades Social Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Licensed to teach Elementary, Middle Grades Social Studies and Middle Grades ELA.
Mother of two high achieving boys. Spent 5 years as a web developer prior to being a stay-at-home mom and then getting my Masters of Education.
