I am most blessed! I have been teaching in the most wonderful school since 1997. It all began with student teaching and I haven't left since. My passion is in the primary grades, there is just something about teaching a child to read but that is what scared me the most when I was moved to 1st grade after 3 glorious years in 2nd.
I am consistent, dedicated and organized. My students take ownership of their learning and behavior.
In 1999, I was selected as Wal-Mart teacher of the year for the wonderful city I teach in. I was also nominated 2012 Elementary Teacher of the year for my school district. What an honor to be recognized by your administration and peers for doing what I love best.
I attended Emporia State University and received my Elementary Teaching degree with a concentration in Early Childhood. In 2014 I earned my Master's Degree in Technology Enhanced Teaching from Mid-America University.
I have been teaching for since 1998 and try to make each and every year fresh and new for my students and myself. I want to be excited when walking through my doors because if the teacher isn't excited, nobody's excited...right?! Fresh and new to me is a new classroom arrangement and streamlining my school life in some sort of way. My girlfriends (aka co-workers) say I am organized. GUILTY! I loved being organized!! Life is easier when my students and I know what is next, it makes us all happy.
