Dana W. Taylor has served as director of Vocal Music and Technical Theatre instructor at Mt. Vernon Senior High School for twenty-four years. Mr. Taylor is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, United States Institute for Theatre Technology, PLASA (formerly the Entertainment Services and Technology Association) and the Educational Theatre Association. As a writer in the area of entertainment technology, Mr. Taylor has contributed articles to Projection Lights and Staging News, Dramatics magazine and Teaching Theatre Journal and in 2006, was named Technical Editor of Dramatics magazine and Teaching Theatre Journal. In addition to his work at Mt. Vernon, Mr. Taylor is an adjunct faculty member teaching secondary theatre methods at the University of Evansville’s Dept. of Theatre and also serves as chair of the Media Development Committee of The ESTA Foundation and a member of The ESTA Foundation Board of Directors.

Mr. Taylor was named Technical Theatre Educator of the Year (2005) by Stage Directions magazine. In 2009, Mr. Taylor was named a Distinguished Alumni of the Indiana University “Singing Hoosiers” and in 2011 the Educational Theatre Association named Mr. Taylor as recipient of their Founders’ Award for significant contributions to theatre education in the United States. Also in 2011, the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana named Mr. Taylor their “Artist of the Year”.
Mr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting, each from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN).
