TEACHING EXPERIENCE

From a young age, I always knew I wanted to work with children. When I was in high school, I began by working at various daycares and preschools. My senior year in high school I was able to participate in a teacher apprentice program, working with a second grade class. Since high school, I have been tutoring students of all grades from kindergarten through 9th in all subjects. Since I have graduated college, I have worked in a variety of grade levels, including kindergarten, first, and second grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Each student is an individual, and each student learns differently. My teaching style is based on that concept. I believe lessons need to be adapted so each student can get the most from it. Some students may need a manipulative, while other students need to visually see or hear the lesson. When teaching a lesson, a teacher should keep all of the learning styles in mind. A student needs to feel safe in the his or her classroom, so the classroom needs to be a positive learning environment! Each student needs to be able to reach their full potential.
