TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching 5th grade Math and Science for 8 years in Texas.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love learning and love my students. I expect the best out of my students and let them know that high expectations are held for them. I establish good relationships with my students in order to understand how they learn and what their strengths and weaknesses are. I teach to the individual child and understand their needs. I display a passion for learning and the subjects in which I teach. I know it is important to not only give your students’ knowledge, but also the experiences and memories in which to tie the knowledge and build upon. This is why I use a hands-on inquiry based approach to the curriculum. Teachers must be creative, energetic, organized yet flexible, loving, open-minded, nurturing, and passionate. That is what I aim to be. My lessons are Tiered based on a 3 Tier system. I want to make sure that all students are pushed to their full potential. I use a variety of teaching and assessment styles. When data and observations show that a student is struggling in a certain area I intervene. This often is a reteach of the concept in a different manner.
