I taught both fifth and sixth grades in all subjects for eight years. In addition, I served as an elementary principal and as a middle school principal. After serving 31 years as an educator, I retired from public education. For the past 11 years, I have been an educational consultant to both elementary and middle schools with a focus on increasing student achievement and test scores.
My teaching style is active and engaged learning based on performance standards. I usually include a measurable task at the end of each lesson.
While serving as a middle school principal, our school received two cash incentives for more than $4,000.00 each from the State of Tennessee for our Value Added Scores. I was selected as a Tennessee Exemplary Educator in 2001 and worked with high priority schools that were on the No Child Left Behind List.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Dayton and my Master’s Degree and Ed.D. from the University of Tennessee.
