I am the elementary STEM Coordinator at Korea International School (KIS) in Seongnam, Korea. As the STEM Coordinator, I contribute to the vision and execution of the school's STEM program, work collaboratively with all stakeholders (administrators, teachers, students, parents, & community), assist in the development and delivery of transdiscipinary STEM professional development, and attend grade-levels meetings to move all teachers towards independence in the delivery of transdisciplinary instruction and curriculum. I also engage students and develop their science ‘identities’ through open-ended inquiry-based activities in the KoLAB spaces, connect KoLAB activities and content to homeroom activities and content (emphasizing connections between disciplines), and plan and execute opportunities for students to showcase their work within the school and community (i.e. fairs, exhibition, etc.). As a former technology instructor, I provided learning activities that focused on technology skills and concepts students crucial to their development as 21st-century learners and citizens. As a former educational technology specialist, I offered educators professional development sessions and classroom facilitation to implement valuable tech-enhanced practices into their instruction and curricula. I have also been a conference presenter at the KORCOS conferences (2012 and 2014), the Google in Education South Korea Summits (2013 and 2014), and Learning 2.0 (2014 and 2015). I have a master’s degree in educational technology. My research focused on a 1:1 program implementation model that incorporated essential 21st-century student outcomes and support systems.
