TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for over a quarter of a century in a variety of environments. I was a Head of English and chaired the Heads of English in Independent Schools in Victoria Australia. I have taught the IB as well as the local VCE. I have been an assessor of exams, written textbooks and been a regular contributor to state and national conferences in Australia.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to think I encourage cooperative learning giving students the opportunity to discover and explore.

My first novel, Finding Coaby, was recognized by the Melbourne Emerging Writers Festival. I was given a scholarship to participate in the Monash/Mt Eliza Business School's 'Career Managers Course'.

After over a quarter of a century in education, I am currently providing professional development sessions for teachers through Teacher Training Australia. I co-host a radio program interviewing established and emerging writers. And I have taken more time to write my own works. My first novel, Finding Coaby, addressed adolescent depression. My next is a series called 'Riddle-Quest' which is an adventure where every chapter centers around a riddle. I'm hoping to encourage the 12-15 year old male reader.
