Dayton Society of Natural History is a team of museum educators in Dayton, Ohio with over 100 combined years of teaching experience among 8 educators, teaching all ages from Pre-K through College/Adult Learners
Each museum educator brings their own unique philosophy of education and teaching style. Multiple teaching styles are represented among the museum educators, including informal and formal instruction; costumed tours and activities; museum presentations; kinesthetic, inquiry-based learning; literacy applications; cross-curriculum instruction; blended classroom techniques; and discussion-based, student-centered approaches
Members of the Boonshoft Education team have won awards in their respective areas of study: • Astronomy: Awards for Planetarium Content Creation, published in 3D World Magazine for work on worldwide planetarium show, SpacePark360, and Most Original Contribution to Astronomy Visualization • Environmental Science: Sustainability Fellow Award and Climate Ambassador Award • Leadership: Volunteerism Award and the Better Business Bureau Non-Profit Integrity in Leadership

Each team member of the Dayton Society of Natural History has relevant experience to enhance student learning with the created content. • Alyssa leads top-notch mobile animal education programs and has experienced years of field biology, including time spent researching in the Galapagos. • Makenzie has over 13 years of geologic and palentologic experience. • Jordan has spent time examining how education is done within exhibit spaces of a museum. • Courtney has been coaching FIRST LEGO League for over 15 years. • Jason has been working as the lead artist for the award-winning tech company Dome3D, LLC and is a co-owner of Once Upon a Thyme Bookshop with his wife. • Vicki has co-written a complete copyrighted curriculum for young adults with disabilities to learn soft skills. • Julia is Project WET certified and has worked in various science fields such as wildlife management, higher education laboratories, and water/product laboratory testing. • Diana has studied the formation and evolution of young stars and traveled to Kitt Peak National Observatory to research galaxies.
