TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began my teaching career as an eighth grade reading teacher. For the past three years. I have worked in an elementary school as a fifth grade math and science teacher. I have done all of my teaching in the Houston, Texas area. I love teaching in Texas!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I truly believe in fostering a growth mindset for myself and my students. My goal for every student that walks into my room is that they are able to make growth both academically and in their character development throughout the year. I believe that having students track their own data and set goals for themselves is one of the biggest factors that motivates them to work hard. I also truly believe in differentiating instruction for students. There are some students that understand a difficult concept after seeing one or two examples. Those students need to be challenged! There are also students that need a lot of practice and support before they are able to show mastery. Give them the time and the support they need!
