I have been teaching for 20 years in Georgia. I have taught 3rd, 4th grade, and EIP. I am currently teaching EIP and love it! Though I can teach all subjects, I especially love reading, language, and writing. I teach because I truly enjoy working with kids and sharing knowledge. I really love my job!
I try to incorporate all teaching styles. Hands-on experiences are definitely important. I use many games and activities that I purchase on TpT. I allow my students to work in groups and with partners often. They can learn so much from each other. My school teaches Literacy Collaborative. We have reader's workshop, writer's workshop, and word work each day, among other things. It is great!
I was awarded Teacher of the Year at Eton Elementary in 1998. It was an honor.
I earned my bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the University of Georgia. Go dawgs! I also have a master's degree in early childhood education from West Georgia College.
I am a blessed wife and mother living on a bison farm in north Georgia. I love to play tennis and spend time with my family. Life is good!
