TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked in Title I facilities with students whose ability levels are all over the board. I quickly learned that in order to engage every student, I needed to be prepared to differentiate every lesson and adjust quickly. You will find that all of the lessons I post will have several differentiation techniques that should meet the needs of a diverse classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe the Socrates quote, "I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think." As teachers, it is our job to inspire students and light the flame so that they have a desire to learn. If we are passionate and prepared, we offer our students an environment where they can think, learn, and grow. Direct instruction and teacher modeling is important, but it can only carry the vessel so far. Children need opportunities to explore and engage in their own education.
