I taught elementary education for 15 years, with 13 of those at the sixth grade level. I now teach Literature at the middle school level.
I became an educator because I deeply believe in education as a gift of knowledge. Knowledge is power and with that power you give yourself confidence and with confidence you have self-esteem. I want all of my students to feel that sense of power and the deep understanding of how all of these combined will lead them to a life of opportunity and fulfillment.
I have been awarded the challenge award for our state, teacher of the year and many other smaller awards with teaching honors.
My education consisted of attending Seaman Public Schools. From there I went to Highland Community College and then on to Fort Hays State University. In 2008 I received my graduate degree from Baker University.
