As far as public teaching, I've taught Pre-K, K, and 1st. With Homeschooling, we've covered different subjects from Elementary through High School.
I believe in trying to meet the needs of my children, rather than have them conform to me. Of course, there are basics we all should know and I teach those. However, my real joy comes from teaching to (and through) the strengths of each child. This is not only gratifying, but freeing, especially to the children. They have really blossomed!
After graduating from High School I completed three years of college before serving an LDS Mission to Colombia, South America. Upon my return home, I married my best friend (who waited for me) and before we knew it, our family began. I quit my job as a bi-lingual secretary and invested the rest of my time at home with our four children. We grew to love learning as we began developing fun, powerful programs by integrating different subjects into the subjects we were learning. Reading, music (baroque, classical and romantic) and the constitution became favorites of mine and I offer them to you.
In my personal time, I love reading, writing music, walking in nature, working in the yard and garden and hearing children laugh and play. I like the simple life! I have totally enjoyed being a mom and place my family and my faith at the top of my priority list!
