3 years of teaching High School Art and Spanish 7 years of teaching at an elementary and junior high- primarily taught Spanish to 6-8th grades, Art to K-8th grades, and taught 5-8th Science for one year and 7th grade World History for one year. These experiences, along with a highly skilled mentor, have taught me how to create interdisciplinary lessons.
I try to make learning hands on- I base lessons and projects on concepts from differentiated instruction. I also believe in VARK learning styles and multiple intelligences, and that lessons should reach students at a variety of those styles and intelligences. I have been learning about Social Justice themes over the last few years and hope to incorporase those into future lesson plans or procedures.
