TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching in higher education since 2012, teaching everything from basic grammar and paragraph writing to college composition and college arguement. I have also tutored and worked with middle school and high school students, and most of my lessons can be used in both the college and high school classroom. My lessons and activities are rigorous and student centered. I teach in prodominently low income districts with diverse student populations, and so my lessons are meant to be inclusive and allow students from all cultural and educational backgrounds to participate and contribute to the conversation.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My goal is to keep students engaged and actively participating throughout the class. As an English instructor, I deal with a lot ends who have had negative experiences in the past with reading and writing, and just want to hide in the back. My lessons and activities are developed to engage students who may otherwise feel like they don't have much to contribute to the conversation
