I have had the opportunity to work with deaf and hard of hearing students in elementary, middle and high school for the past 16 years. I have worked with students from a diverse population using both American Sign Language, voice or a combination of both. I have experience being both an itinerant teacher and classroom teacher.
I believe in meeting students where they are at and assessing their strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. Using this information I then create an educational plan for that individual student.

My work with deaf and hard of hearing students has allowed me to work with a variety of students from different cultures with a range of hearing losses. Some students were just learning a language for the first time, having just arrived in the United States. Other students were learning English but came to school already knowing a language, such as sign language.
