TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for 10 years. I have taught in primary and intermediate.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In the district I worked for, the focus was on direct instruction. This means that students spend a lot of time learning the concept and I spend a lot of time teaching it. I identify the skill I want to them to learn and show them specific steps they take to complete it. I focus a lot on academic discourse in my classroom, and you will notice that all my Powerpoints have sentence frames. I like to have opportunities for them to share/prove what they've learned in every slide, and give myself a chance to check for understanding before moving on.
