I have been teaching singing, music theory and musicianship for over a decade and love creating beautiful resources to help my students enjoy learning. Alongside my private practice, I teach musicianship for the National Youth Choir of Scotland's Edinburgh choir. I have an excellent pass rate for both singing and theory exams. I hold a DipABRSM in Vocal Teaching, AMusTCL in Music Theory and a Vocal Health First Aider certificate.
The singing comes first! I'm trained in Kodaly methodology which is all about sound before symbol. My teaching practice is also influenced by Dalcroze, Feldenkrais and yoga techniques for a whole-body musical experience. Coming from a theatre background, I often borrow from acting techniques to help explore the emotional and communicative aspects of music. I also have a degree in history so also enjoys exploring the history of music, composers and shows with her students.
