TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Erin's education is in biotechnology, pharmaceutical science, and business administration. She has had the opportunity to mentor individual students in high school and college in a laboratory setting, as well as providing science learning workshops to classrooms of students in grades 3-8. In addition, she has conducted professional development for science teachers of grades 6-12 for original curricula developed by Discovery Express Kids.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Dr. E (a.k.a. Dr. Erin Nyren) is a business owner and researcher who grew up exploring her environment in rural North Dakota, which nurtured her fascination with science. She conducted her first research project when she was 12 years old for her 7th grade science fair project and since then has presented at 22 scientific conferences, seminars, and competitions, and won over 20 awards for her work. She received her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from North Dakota State University in 2013, and has has since authored two books and numerous lessons and hands-on activities for children in the elementary and middle school grades. She has offered summer programs and after-school workshops to children ages 8-15, and since summer of 2014 has taught workshops on plant science, nutrition, chemistry, cell biology, and engineering. She is currently the president and CEO of Discovery Express Kids LLC in Fargo, North Dakota.
