As a special education teacher, I have experience working with students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, with needs that range from mild to severe. I have serviced these students across the continuum of classroom settings including inclusion, resource, and self-contained.
I believe that the main purpose of education is to aid students in growing up to become happy, healthy, productive members of society. I believe that how students are educated plays a great role in their outcome. As a teacher, my educational beliefs influence how students will be educated. My education philosophy consists of creating an ever evolving, safe and secure learning environment, allowing students to progress to the best of their abilities. In order to help students become his/her best, I believe that the teacher should assume the role of a facilitator. To fulfill this role, the teacher must be able to effectively manage the classroom in an organized manner. To achieve this, the first thing the teacher must do is establish a rapport with colleagues, students, and parents. The rapport must be that of a competent, caring professional. Other facilitator requirements for a teacher include setting rules and guidelines, being an active listener, effectively gather data, possess excellent questioning techniques and be willing to continually advance technologically.

I graduated from Walden University with a Masters of Science in Education specializing in reading and literature. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education leading to my elementary teacher license and learning behavior specialist endorsement.
I continually strive to create products that reinforce classroom concepts for students that have special needs. It is my goal to create resources that support and promote the inclusion of students with special needs in the least restrictive environment.
