TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My first year of teaching, I taught 6th grade Math, Science, and Reading. For the next 3 years, I taught Math. The last 5 years of teaching, I taught 6th grade science and loved it! This year I am teaching 6th grade Language Arts. I have been apart of a TAP school my whole teaching career. We are required to have very proficient lessons that are extremely creative and focused. I have spent many many hours on my lessons that I absolutely love. I am ready to share the ones that I have created and hopefully lots more this year. I hope you enjoy! Let me know if you need anything else created :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love motivating students. I enjoy using lots of hands on activities and labs to use in the classroom. I use a lot of Powerpoints to teach my lessons. I always have guided notes for students to follow along. Using the right types of lessons allows students to really get motivated in the classroom. I always try to include pieces in my lessons that motivate kids to want to learn.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I received teacher of the year award in 2014-2015. I've also received lots of smaller awards throughout the year that were school based.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I went to a smaller Christian college in Tennessee around 10 years ago. I have my bachelor's degree.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I've always had a God given desire to teach. When I was a kid, I would think about what I wanted to teach every year that I was in school. I remember all of my teachers and have lots of favorite ones. I hope I can be an encouragement to students the way that my teachers have encouraged me. I hope I can show patience and love the way God gives it back to me. Teaching is a hard profession and requires people that are called to do it. You have to have a very strong work ethic to be a teacher today. It's a very rewarding job. :) Please feel free to change whatever items you purchase and make them your own!
