TEACHING EXPERIENCE

While living and teaching in Tokyo, Japan, my two brothers and I self-published a series of ESL material that included a phonics series, a young reader's series, adult material, as well as flash cards and games. We also had the opportunity to present our material at book seminars and ESL educational events throughout Japan. Though the books are still sold in Japan, TpT is a great platform for introducing our material to teachers all over the world. Between the three of us, we taught classes from pre-school through high school, university and adult classes. From kindergarten to the Japanese Diet and everything in between, we prepared material that suited a variety of classroom needs. We hope you find material you can work with in your own classes. MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that every classroom has different demands and your teaching style must be flexible when teaching ESL courses. With children it is important to keep the classroom active with an arsenal of games, flash cards, and writing material. Adults need quality worksheets that will feed their interests as well as their needs in business. As a teacher, it was my responsibility to gage students' levels and have material appropriate to their needs and levels.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My twin brother, Robert, and I were recipients of grants at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio and the Art Institute of Chicago for our collaborative work in video production. Under the moniker of Monozygote Productions, our works have shown in film and video festivals world wide.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Robert is a graduate of Rutgers State University, Mason Gross School of the Arts and attended the University of Caifornia, San Diego in La Jolla. Michael is a graduate of the literature program at the University of Iowa and has an extensive background in working in residential facilities for the mentally disabled. Donald attended the University of Iowa performing arts program and performed for repertory children's theatre at The Old Creamery in Garrison, Iowa and conducted theatrical seminars in federal and state penitentiaries in the U.S.
