My teaching career began with teaching kindergarten students for six years. I spent the next eighteen years teaching 2nd graders. This year is my eighth year in 1st grade. Drum role please.... Yes! This is my thirty third year in the classroom.
My teaching style is a combination of teacher centered and student centered. Basically it is teacher centered when I introduce a new concept, then switches to student centered with lots of hands on learning opportunities.
Awards... I am not the type of person that dwells on past accomplishments! My greatest honor is being a wife, a mother, and a teacher!

I have recently ventured into the world of "Blogging". When pondering the possibilities of names for my blog, the word enigma kept popping into my head. Why you ask? Well, my family has lived on the outskirts of a tiny town called Enigma in South Georgia for more than 26 years. I am a first grade teacher that still marvels at the challenge of reaching through and connecting with the puzzling minds of six and seven year old kids. So...First Grade Enigmas was born!
