I taught middle school math for 16 years in McDowell County, West Virginia. I have taught in the teacher education program for the past 20 years including a course called "Teaching Mathematics PreK-6". I am currently the Dean of the School of Education at Bluefield College in Bluefield, VA. But I still love teaching and learning about math!
I like to engage elementary and middle school students in learning math through technology, games, and hands-on activities. I like to use learning groups and pairs and also incorporate literature, science, and social studies to learn math.
