I am a professional religious school teacher. I have taught multiple grades in preschool, elementary, and middle school. I develop a lot of my own lesson plans, bulletin boards, recording sheets, and packets. In addition, I am a homeschooler and develop materials for my own personal classroom.
I am an eclectic teacher. I am a big fan of the Montessori Method and often create materials or lesson plans with concrete and individual learning in mind. I am also a traditionalist and favor books, packets, and worksheets over technological tools.
When my students understand what I'm teaching them is the best reward.
In high school I focused a large portion of my coursework on English Literature and Social Studies. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a minor in psychology. I earned a Master's of Educational Leadership in Higher Education Student Affairs with a focus on Academic Advising and Community College Leadership.
I spend most of my non-work time taking care of my boys: my husband, my son, and our cat.
