MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is to prepare Jr. and Senior High school students for the rigors of college work and problem solving skills using physics and math as a framework for developing problem solving skills. My method is to help students understand and describe the world in terms of mathematics while building a logical understanding.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.S. Secondary Education Major: Physics Minor: Mathematics

I consider myself a natural philosopher. I am a jack of all trades. I started teaching in my late 20s. Before I became a teacher I worked on the Mississippi River towboats, as a swimming pool repair man, landscaper, nursery work, and construction. I did undergraduate research computer modelling second harmonic generation in aromatic molecules with Dr. Parkinson at Southeast Louisiana University. I am an active environmentalist volunteering my time to protect the local rivers from pollution and poorly planned development. I bring ideas from my past experiences into my teaching style.
