I have taught ESL, writing, speaking, and literature courses in different colleges and universities in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and the US. Currently, I am an adjunct writing and ESL lecturer in Lawrence Technological University, Macomb, and Henry Ford Community College.
I strongly believe in following a student-centered approach to teaching. A teacher should keep in mind that his/her job is to facilitate learning and to guide students to acquire new skills that are useful in life and not to be the primary source of knowledge. To put this to practice, they can help students set goals for themselves, encourage peer editing and peer coaching as well as collaborative learning.

I have a BA in English Literature and a Master's and PhD in Education with an emphasis on teaching English. I have completed a dissertation for my PhD which proposes strategies to improve university students' proficiency in writing.
I presented in the Lilly Conference in Anaheim, California in March 2019. My presentation was about an integrated approach in the teaching of writing. I discussed the integration of strategies that have proved to improve university students' written communication skills and that have served to develop autonomous and independent learners who can take charge of their own learning.
