TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an early childhood educator since 1978, and the owner/administrator/lead teacher of the Oxford Early Childhood Center for over 17 years. I have also been a university instructor since 2000, teaching courses in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Theatre, and Women’s Studies. Since 2010, I have been an Early Childhood Curriculum and Administration consultant, creating and providing professional development opportunities for teachers, caregivers, administrators, and home care providers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that children learn best when their environments and experiences are creative, loving, supportive, and personalized. I utilize an “Integrated Curriculum” that combines multiple approaches and learning experiences, including group projects, individualized instruction, self-directed learning, active play, and content-process tasks. At the core of all of these approaches is a foundational commitment to maximizing creativity for all children.
