TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 5th grade for 12 years, but recently felt a calling to move towards middle school. I moved to the 6th grade and became certified in Social Studies. I taught an ELA/SS block and love it very much. I still felt there was a need to do more in middle school, so I embarked on a brand new program. I found a great teammate and an administration who believes in me and set off to change the face of education in my school. I started West Jackson's first STEAM Team. We teach in unit block where all of our lesson are based around a theme. Each theme ends in a culminating activity every 6 weeks. I love teaching and I love bring the real world into my classroom.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have three kids which are my best works. My oldest graduated from the University of Northwestern Ohio and currently has a job working on High Performance Engines. My daughter is currently at Eastern Carolina University pursuing a degree in Marketing. My youngest son is a seventh grader who is into Lego's, gaming, and robotics. I have been married for almost 23 years and can't wait to see what the future brings.
