TEACHING EXPERIENCE

In 2000, I was fortunate to land my first teaching job. I was newly graduated from college and credentialing school. My first year in teaching was quite eye opening. My classroom was in a newly built school so the resources I had available were limited to several teacher's manuals and my amazing colleagues. Those first few years, I learned more than I ever did in credentialing school and fell in love with the art of teaching. I have worked at three schools throughout the years. The majority of my teaching experience has been with second language learners. Because of this, I feel like I gravitate toward a visual teaching style to help my students build their vocabulary and background knowledge. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade. For one beautiful school year I taught our school's upper grade RSP class. I look forward to sharing my resources with you!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have taught ELD, gifted and talented, and special education classes. I prefer lessons that allow students to utilize their senses so that they can develop a deeper understanding of what they are being taught. But really, I enjoy the challenge of figuring out exactly how my students need to be taught so that they can learn in the way that is best for them.
