I have been a teacher to small children for more than 20 years. I currently work with the Head Start Program and am continually learning better ways to effectively teach my students and my own children alike. I am learning that things don't have to be fancy or expensive. The best way to teach is through personal example and encouraging self expression.
I am a "hands on learner" and a "hands on teacher." I want my students to use all their senses to explore each topic. I want to encourage them to be inquisitive and ask questions about each topic. I teach in an emergent learning setting, which keeps each year new, fun and challenging.
I formerly owned a preschool and daycare center where I was awarded the Small Business Woman of the Year Award in 2005. I have always been committed to teaching and to learning.

I have 5 children in my home that fall in the catagory of "Early Childhood." They are ages 4,5,6,7 and 8. My children enjoy helping me with different teaching topics. Many of the items that will be posted on my site are inspired or created out of need to better teach my own children a concept.
