TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently have an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from South Dakota State University and Masters of Education degree from University of LaCrosse. I am currently in my seventh year of teaching with Winona Area Public Schools. I started my teaching career as a Head Start teacher. Shortly thereafter, I joined the WAPS staff as an early childhood educator for 3 years, taught CSR in 2nd grade for 2 years and am starting my second year as a 1st grade teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In my classroom, the students learn through hands-on, investigative activities. The learning revolves around the needs and wants of each and every child in my room. To provide the best learning environment, I differentiate my teaching to meet the needs of individual children. We focus on building a strong community in our classroom while we think critically, inquire about things around us, and work respectfully in groups.
