TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching preschool, pre-K and Kindergarten for five years. I have been most successful when I begin teaching the child at 3 years old. It is my goal to send all preschool children into Kindergarten with a strong reading foundation.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Paying attention to the child and learning his or her strongest learning style. I wrote this curriculum to incorporate tactile, audio and visual activities.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Early Childhood Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I started my interest in early literacy when I taught my children to read and write early. I found it fascinating to figure out what worked and what didn't. I went through countless store bought "workbooks" which ultimately I found to be inconsistent and overwhelming. I went back to college for Early Childhood Education and since then have been teaching early reading, Kindergarten reading, math and early basic Spanish. Through trial and error I created this curriculum and began using it at the school.
